The Post-graduation Program in Dentistry (PPD) of the Federal University of Paraiba started in 1990 with the concentration area of Oral Diagnosis. The concentration area of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry was implemented some years later, and then both areas remained active until December 2013. In 2014, the Program changed to only one concentration area, Dental Sciences, and the Program is open to receive students from Dentistry and correlated areas of knowledge, also accepting foreign students.

The Program has supervisors with background in different areas of knowledge (Dentistry, Biomedicine, Engineer, Pharmacy), in line with the inter and multidisciplinary approaches that are characteristic of oral and dental research in Brazil.

The lines of investigations are:
1) Phytotherapy
2) Epidemiology
3) Properties and applications of biomaterials
4) Physiopathology of hard and soft oral tissues

The campus of FUPB is located in the coastal city of João Pessoa (~1 million inhabitants), the capital of the state of Paraiba, at the most oriental geographical point of all Americas, bathed by the warm waters of the equatorial Atlantic ocean.

PPD (Master program) selects new students annually, on October-November, and is open to foreign applicants. The Master program has a duration of 2 years. Any questions can be sent to the coordinator by email (fredericosousa@hotmail.com).
