The Graduate Program in Family Health (PPSF) consists of a Professional Master's Degree in Family Health (MPSF) and a Professional Doctorate Degree in Family Health (DPSF), being offered by a Network of Education and Research Institutions from North and Northeast regions of Brazil, called the Northeast Family Health Training Network (RENASF), in professional mode, with an area of ​​concentration in Family Health. RENASF is composed of nine executing units, called Nucleators, which are Higher Education Institutions and which offer the Master and/or Doctorate degree in Family Health. 

The PPSF is governed by the Nucleators rules and by its Internal Regulations. The purpose of the Graduate Program in Family Health of the Northeast Family Health Training Network is to produce knowledge, scientific and technological research, innovation and the training of professionals to work in Primary Care in the Unified Health System.

The Professional Master's degree in Family Health aims to train and qualify health service professionals, encouraging the use of research methods for decision-making and for the management of the work and care process in Primary Health Care (PHC). The Professional Doctorate Degree in Family Health aims to train researchers, at the doctoral level, with technical-scientific, critical and reflective competence to work in research, innovation, teaching and management within the PHC scope.
