“Geonic wormholes and topology change in Palatini gravity”
RESUMO: I will present some recent results obtained in the context of high-curvature extensions of Einstein's theory of gravity formulated in a first-order (or Palatini) formalism. The plan is first to introduce the concepts needed to understand the notions of geon, wormhole, topology change, and black hole remnant, and then show that all such concepts naturally appear within the context of Palatini theories. I will comment on the relevance of these results in relation with quantum gravity
