RESUMO: RESUMO O campo sociocultural da Educação Física é ascendente no processo de introdução da prática científica em seu cotidiano. O esporte se apresenta como um espaço favorável paras as tais pesquisas, já que é bem praticado em nossa cultura, porém, dividi corpos em critérios como idade, gênero entre outros, e deposita no gênero masculino todas as suas expectativas, visto como segregador, carrega um estereótipo de preconceito, para aqueles que fogem de sua hegemonia masculina. Os preconceitos estão inseridos em corpos, instituições e mecanismos, em todas as esferas, e a homofobia tem aparecido bastante dentro do contexto esportivo. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi verificar preconceitos existente no âmbito esportivo amador, e analisar como os homossexuais enfrentam as barreiras da heteronormatividade através do esporte. A pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa se caracteriza como um estudo etnográfico. Os sujeitos são atletas de um time de voleibol masculino amador, da cidade de João Pessoa (star play), composto por indivíduos referidamente homossexuais que participam de competições locais e interestaduais. Utilizamos diário de campo, e uma entrevista semiestruturada; os dados foram analisados concomitantes ao processo de investigação. Os resultados demonstraram que existem preconceitos várias vertentes de preconceitos com o homossexuais dentro do contexto esportivo: nas práticas esportivas escolares, existem discriminações tanto pelos alunos heterossexuais, como pelos próprios professores; nas torcidas através de palavras pejorativas; nas arbitragens, reprimindo as comemorações e agindo de má fé; muitos demonstraram firmezas em seus enfrentamentos, utilizando o esporte como forma de visibilidade e de conquista deste espaço. Palavras- chave: Esporte, Heteronormatividade, Homofobia ABSTRACT The socio-cultural field of physical education is up in the introduction process of scientific practice in their daily lives. The sport is introduced as a favorable place for research; after all it is well practiced in our culture, however, the sport separates people on criteria such as age and gender. All the expectations are deposited in males, that seen as segregated, carries a stereotype of prejudice for people that are out of their male hegemony. Prejudices are exposed by bodies, institutions and mechanisms, in all spheres, and homophobia has appeared quite within the sporting context. The objective of this research was to investigate prejudices in amateur sporting arena, and analyze how homosexuals face the barriers of heteronormativity through sport. The qualitative research is characterized as an ethnographic study. The subjects are athletes of an amateur men's volleyball team (star play), located in the city of João Pessoa, composed by homosexual individuals who participates in local and interstate competitions. We used a field diary and a semi-structured interview; the data was analyzed at the same time to the investigation process. The results showed a large number of prejudice aspects that involves homosexuals inserted in the sporting context. During school sports activities, there is discrimination by heterosexual students and by the teachers; telling hurtful words; in arbitrations, suppressing the celebrations and acting in bad faith. Many athletes have shown firmness in fighting, using the sport as a way of visibility and a way to conquer this space. Keywords: Sport; Heteronormativity; Homophobia
