The Graduate Computational Mathematical Modelling Program (PPGMMC) began in the second half of 2014, offering the Academic Master’s course. It is associated with the UFPB Informatics Center, which offers a broad and modern structure, with classrooms, laboratories, visiting researchers offices, auditoriums and library.

Our course provides an interdisciplinary formation, emphasizing a solid mathematical and physical foundation, as well as the development of computational abilities, which allow students to formulate and explore highest complexity models, applied to problems of several knowledge areas. Besides, the students are motivated to develop network, critical thinking and technical synthesis in both oral and written communication, in different contexts.

We expect graduate students to engage in higher education activities as well as research and development in the academic, productive and service sectors with the ability to compose, conduct and lead interdisciplinary work teams.

The PPGMMC presents a qualified team of professors whose competencies cover the program’s two lines of research:

• Computational Modelling & Simulation;
• Probabilistic Modelling.

The Master’ program has a duration of 24 months. The minimum number of 25 credits must be met, totaling 375 hours, organized and offered twice a year. Extracurricular activities are offered periodically in the form of seminars, conferences, colloquia, minecourse and others.

The program is preferably aimed at graduates with a background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computing and/or related areas.
