GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE ADMISSION IN THE COURSES FROM PPGCN/UFPB

Candidates holding diplomas of upper level and masters’ degree, recognized by the Ministry of Education Interested parties may register for the selection of entry in the masters and doctorate courses, respectively, of the PPGCN.

The enrollment of the final candidates of undergraduate or masters’ degree courses in the selection processes of the PPGCN will be assured, as described in the rules of the General Regulation of the Graduate Programs Stricto Sensu of the UFPB.

The final candidates of undergraduate or master courses should present a statement issued by the coordination of its course that certifies the possibility of its conclusion before the date of the first enrollment in disciplines of the PPGCN.

 For registration of candidates in the selection process of the PPGCN will be required:

 I - certificate of completion of the undergraduate or master degree, or of conclusion, in the hypothesis of the concession;

 II - Curriculum vitae, made compulsory in the Lattes model, instructed with the supporting documents;

 III - completion of the provided registration form (on-line);

 IV - copy of identity, CPF or general registration of foreigner, for Brazilian candidates or not, respectively;

 V - proof of compliance with military obligations, in the case of a Brazilian male candidate;

 VI - proof of being up to date with the Electoral Justice;

 VII - proof of deposit of the registration fee, if applicable.

The registration will be made by the candidate, according to the specifications contained in the Public Call for Selection.

The selection process for student enrollment in the PPGCN courses will be carried out by a committee of researchers previously approved by the collegiate of the program and designated by the ordinance. The rules of the selection exam for admission and enrollment in the PPGCN will be defined for each selection process by the collegiate of the program, including the evaluation criteria.

For enrollment in the selection process of the master and doctorate courses of the PPGCN will be required proof of ability to read and interpret in English language issued in the last two years. In addition, a candidate who is approved and qualified for admission to the doctoral program will have a maximum period of 24 months after enrollment in the course to present a certificate of proficiency in a second foreign language (Spanish or French). For foreign applicants, a certificate of proficiency in Portuguese will be required at the time of enrollment, in addition to proof of English language proficiency. The cut-off points and types of documents accepted for proof of reading and interpretation ability in a foreign language, as well as Portuguese language proficiency, will be specified in the Public Call for Selection.

 Note: Holders of doctoral degrees in Nutrition or in related areas may apply for a post-doctoral internship at PPGCN, and must be directly requested by the proponent from the supervisor, who must be a researcher that have been developing activities in PPGCN. The postdoctoral candidate must submit a letter of acceptance signed by the supervisor, Lattes curriculum and work plan, including the research and teaching activities that will be developed within the PPGCN. These documents will be assessed by the program collegiate, according to specific rules.

The enrollment in the selection process of the master's and doctoral courses of PPGCN has taken place entirely through a digital platform made available by the UFPB, with a direct link to such functionality available on the homepage of the Program, allowing the remote registration of Brazilian and foreign candidates.
