Study at PPGL

Study at PPGL! Admission is made through a public call published in June. Entrance exams are usually made in October, and classes start in February or March.

Both for the Masters and PhD Programs, students are expected to present a research Project that suits the faculty members’ area of research. If the project is accepeted, the proponents take a written test which includes general literary issues and more specific questions related to the area of research.

For the Masters Program, foreign students are required to hold an undergraduate degree in language and literature or related areas as well as proficiency in Portuguese as a Foreign Language (CELPE-BRAS).

For the PhD Program, in addition to the undergraduate degree and proficiency in Portuguese, proponents are also required to provide a certificate of proficiency in a foreign language, other than his/her native tongue.
